You all do realize that Apple Store employees get ZERO (0) information on unreleased products, right?

None. Nada. Zip.

None. Nada. Zip.

I do know random people on MR knows ZERO (0) about how Apple's corporate structure is organised too.

None. Nada. Zip.

How do you know? The guy might know something for all we know.

IF they did actually know something (which they don't), IF they did...
then the last thing anybody should be doing as a favor to them is reporting what they said and then mentioning the store they work at online, too. Didn't the guy give his name and Apple employee number, too? That way they can nail him even faster for spilling the beans. IF he hypothetically knew anything, of course.

"2007 is only the beginning" which means that they're going to start it sometime this year. We will have to see what they say at the start of next year, hopefully something like "2008 you mite get lucky"

You would be surprised at how much certain Apple employees know and pretend not to. However a few weeks is way, way off.

I think what the guy was doing was dodging the question by giving a very general response. saying "a few weeks" is like saying " spring 2007". Spring only lasts for weeks. There are around 12 weeks in spring. Minus the one that has already passed and you have 11 weeks remaining.

Dear [Insert poster name here]. The employee in the [Insert Apple store location here] Apple Store knows [Insert random word for "nothing" here] when [Insert Apple product name here] is being released. ;)

Sales people are told as little as humanly possible, precisely because of conversations like the one to which you referred. They talk for a living. Not good for secrecy.

while I generally agree with you, there must be some sort of activity the store needs to go through when a major update is about to be released.

Nope...trust me.

They have no idea of a release date until Apple announces a release date. Preparations aren't made until an official release date is announced.

Trust me, Apple Employees know squat about upcoming stuff.

I don't wait for this specific day. So it doesn't matter whether it is gonna be march 29th, may 25th, april 7th or whatever.
Anyway, I'm gonna buy the Leo with a new Macbook and I have totally no clue when they're gonna release a new book...
Guess it lasts until June/july for a new generation of macbooks.
