It isn't Leopard but, it is OS X... trust me. It's the first OS X Public Beta.

Again your not reading as well!!! Read what the initial comment was on the picture..... it was nothing about claiming what OS it was! It was saying 'thank god we don't have to use that UI anymore'.

I really wish people would learn to read on these forums

Yes, but then someone said 'That's not OS X' and we're saying 'Yes, it was.'

Yes and i was telling the original person that he was an idiot for calling fake since the OP of the picture never claimed it to be any specific OS. And i was correcting the last person because again there was lack of reading as i was also not disputing which OS it was!

For those interested here is mine

A quick question,

is the bug in mail finally fixed whereby when mail is set to open at login but also set to be hidden when doing so, is it actually hidden now?

thanks,

That's sweet... How does the transition look? Does each monitor individually wipe across to show the next space, or is it like one big swoosh for all screens? I'm curious how it'll be with my triple monitor setup :)

If you use the Ctrl-Arrow combo, it slides each screen individually in the direction you move. One nice feature is when you press F8 to see the overview, whichever space your pointer is over when you press F8 again is the active one. Good for quick switching.

Half those words aren't even real!:D

Hey stop dissing our beautiful language! :p

The only pr...em is that so many words are abb...ted so you can't easily read what they're su...ed to say ;)

edit: looking again, I see that there aren't so many. Only two in system prefs.

Some folks are calling the BSOD icons "childish" and "unprofessional," and to them I say LIGHTEN THE HELL UP.

It is maybe old news for some people, but I really like this screenshot. It shows what a pc looks like when browsing a network in the new finder: a CRT with a BSOD :p

OMG I love it! That is definitely my favorite feature of Leopard so far (I haven't gotten it yet).

Yeah, I feel exactly the same way. It's that type of humour that has gone missing from Apple over recent years.

They used to joke a lot more than they currently do, but it's great to see a large company having a little joke.

Some of the naysayers' reasoning being that this is a dumb move that will somehow cause dissension among the enterprise world.

Yeah.

If anything, I'm sure most techs on that side of the fence would get just as much enjoyment out of this particular gag as we do. Perhaps even more so.

Exactly. It's universal nerd humor.

Sorry if I missed it, but what is the default background? It's not that grass is it?

Also, don't you think the rounded screen edges kinda emulate the look of an old CRT tv? I'd guess that when they originally came up with that they wanted the computer to look more like a TV so that people who never used a computer, which included most people at that time, would make the Mac feel familiar like their TV. Now that CRTs are the past, round screen corners just make the Mac look antiquated.

Actually, the original Mac displays were physically rounded. Also, I think the rounded corners had more to do with the RoundRects story than anything else.

Lol...
Apple has not entirely left rounded corners though. Yes, the menu bar and the windows now have straight corners, but when you crtl-click or select a contextual menu you now see rounded corners, although they used to be straight in Tiger.
So basically they just shifted the whole thing. :p

From what I see, windows still have rounded corners.

thanks for posting that!

funny, i was at the grove this morning (i thought leopard was going on sale "today", not at 6pm "tonight" - silly me!), and was really digging the look of the new desktop. i thought it wasn't such a huge change all told, probably because the outer space desktop image created the biggest impression. however, seeing the above photo, i now realize just how big of a change in environment this is. i'm thrilled to pick this up tonight; hope the lines aren't completely insane, though...
