I was expecting an improvement on the look of Finder. I am a die-hard Apple fan,, but I am really starting to get bored of the same style all over again. With Vista around the corner, chich offers substantial improvements into its GUI (although many ideas are "borrowed" from OS X), Apple should me more concerned about the looks of Leopard's Finder. I don't know for how long the under-the-hood changes will keep the users from calling names at apple that leaves them with the same old Finder once again.

Bad choice, Apple!

Come to a conclusion when the final code is released in Spring 2007.

I really think that much of the gui and finder stuff is kept secret. So far, the only real difference I can see is that the apple logo is slightly smaller. It seems laggier than tiger, which is expected for a prerelease this early.

I forgot that dashboard can also be removed. I remember trying it once (earlier tiger) and it didn't work.

The boot time is good, but I haven't seen the "Welcome to OS X" screen. It just goes from the grey apple to a light blue, then to a darker blue and then loads icons and everything. I also did not see it when installing it.

I will, don't worry. But since we are talking about pre-release software in here, and we are called to discuss it before release, I will judge from what I see so far.

Does anybody know if Quartz 2D extreme will finally be enabled for Leopard?
