Leopard still choppy with MBP?

On my SR and Penryn laptops, even after the graphics update on leopard, the animations still seem choppy... especially when adjusting volume on a full screen movie or when theres any animation involving a progress bar and im trying to scroll through the dock, the magnification is not smooth.

Not seeing it here but I do have a feel for what you are talking about. It has been choppy in leopard for me, also with tiger on SR Macbook Pro.

Would have a look to see if there is anything running in the background maybe? I have a feeling that the NVidia drivers for the cards in those machines are still causing apple a small bit of trouble to get absolutely perfect.

Although I am not experiencing anything as bad as I think you are describing.
