Hi all,

I installed FontExplorer this morning and said ok to letting it manage fonts and to move fonts to some specified directory. I didn't realise it was going to cause trouble, but after a reboot I am now missing some fonts in at least Mail and Safari.

In mail I am missing the font that displays the header info, such as TO, FROM, SUBJECT etc it now just displays as weird symbols, see the pic below.
(Removed)

I then noticed at the transmit website things were not looking so great, and checked out the style sheet and it appears that the missing font was Helvetica.. See pic:

I checked in Safari preferences under appearence and it seems at least one other font is also missing, see pic:

I have tried looking on my laptop, as that is also running leopard to see if I was missing any fonts under system/library/fonts but both seem to have 35 fonts in that folder. So I checked under library/fonts and m laptop had slightly more so I copied them accross.. But it did not fix my problem.. I have looked for specific mail font folders with no luck..

Can anyone shed some light on how I can fix this problem..

Cheers!!

I was having the exact same problem. I think that it wasn't a missing font, rather an alternative font was overriding Times.
To correct this, open fontexplorer and deactivate whatever Times Alternative you find. You may need to relaunch Finder afterwards.
