I honestly have no clue what to do. I just ordered Snow Leopard and currently have the Leopard OS.

I know once I get the new OS I just have to insert the disk and follow the on screen directions.
I feel stupid for asking this but...
😱
The one thing I'm a little confused about are the files on my MacBook. Will I have to back them up prior to the new install or if I don't back them up will my files still be there once the upgrade has finished?

Backups are always recommended, but your files should be just fine
The OS install is designed to update and leave your files intact
