So,updating from 10.4.11 to leopard 10.5.6.
Have a MP 1.1 with a software raid10.
But weirdness starts to happen when I try to install the leotard.

First, when booting with the install disk, I can hear few seconds after the apple logo appears that a pair of HDDs is winding down, then starting up again.

When it was time to choose the bootdisk, the raid array was not visible anymore, but only my disk5 wich is a drive connected to the sata slot on the mobo!
Using disk utility I found all the four raid10 disks but only one pair (disk 3&4) was highlighted with green with a text "on line". the first pair was not "on line". It must have been it who powered down during the startup.

The nice part is that the install disk prevents you to booting back up to Tiger as well,as it wont frigging EJECT when you restart the computer.Only when installing a fw backupdisk,it lets to choose from wich boot disk you want to boot from.Even then the raid array comes up as disk1,2,3,4...
Luckily it boots normally to tiger when you choose 1.

So now,how the heck can I put up the array again so the leopard recognizes it and lets me proceed with the setup??
Via diskutility, via terminal or what? How have peeps succeeded in their updates?
All help would be appreciated!

More weirdness. Havent managed to put the arrays together, but the leopard installed to the drive bay5 disk (connected to the sata port on mobo) just fine and booted from it too!

After that,it leopard recognized and allowed to transfer my files from the "missing" raid10 array!

Wtf?

I think the raid10 showed up under Tiger as :

disk1s2
disk2s2 (array1)

disk3s2 (array2)
disk4s2

But under leopard install disk utility it showed up as :

disk2s2
disk2s3 (Online)

but disk4s2 and 1s2 was just "raid".
So do I put the "online" array "offline and rebuild the arrays like before or what?

Too damn confusing this life is..

Update: Even more weirdness. Leo installed just fine on the drivebay5 (int.sata) and now the old raid10 array is visible on the desktop and working just fine... ???
So,practically I have now two operating systems working side by side, fine and dandy.
What I could do,is I would wipe the raid10 clean,CCC the drive5 Leo to the raid10 array and that might work...or not...maybe.

Update 2 : Even more weirdens..
Leo sees, reads and writes the raid10 disk just fine.
So I erased it and CCCd Leopard on it and tried to boot from it.
It just wont boot from it!
It gets a kernel panic after 10 seconds when the apple logo comes up.
When restarting with ALT pressed, you see d1,d2,d3&d4 just like before and the bay5 disk.
Hmm...

Just to make clear, you can boot from the internal sata slots on the old 1.1 macs! Apparently...
