Less performance when on battery?

Hello!

I just noticed that, when on battery power, my MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz displays most of the OS Animations alot slower than it does when it's plugged in. For example when I minimize. Is the GPU underclocked or something when on battery power?

btw. I'm running the 9400.

The CPU and GPU are underclocked to improve battery life
