I'm looking at a powerbook g4 and ibook g3 combo purchase.
specs:
powerbook g4 12"
1.25ghz, 80gb HD, 1.25GB Ram, combo, battery is shot, airport is broken, missing f12 key.

ibook g3
500mhz, 320mb ram, cd-rom, airport works well, aftermarket battery.

The guy wants $500 for both which is obviousy too much, do you think $350 is fair?

OMG...sounds like a $500 box of broken junk. Give him 50 bucks, and a lifesaver.

i'd say 100 or so and that's being very very fair. but then again, i'd never buy those shoddy laptops. they're really old models.

Why do people think decade old Apple stuff is valuable? The G4 powerbook might still be useful if it worked but you'd have to put money into it to make it work. I'd offer half his asking price

I got a 1.83 Intel Macbook (HD wasn't working....easy fix) for $300

Also with it,

an iBook G4 (LCD cracked..$50-$60 fix if you can follow instructions) for $75


These you are looking at are old and sound real busted up. Tell him he's lucky if you take it off his hands for $100.00.


There are some real idiots on Craigs List who think that because it says APPLE it is still worth hundreds.

I see a guy all the time touting an eMac telling people they can easily edit a feature film on it and has surround sound coming out of it..and to not be "fooled" by these more expensive Macs that people dont need...I like to debunk his posts whenever I see them
