That's not the case now and hasn't been the case for some years. I never was interested in any intel processors until the pentium M. It seems Apple feels the same way.

Exactly, The Pentium M is the only good well thought out processor they have ever made.....The p4 was the worst

G3's are real workhorses!!

I still work on 2 beige 266 Mhz G3's every day with OS 8.1. They are fast at what they are designed to do. I wait no longer than 10 seconds for them to process the data I throw at them. Why have they not been upgraded you may ask.. Because they still work!!! :D

I can't believe the price though - probably another reason why they are still in use!!

"Work different. Apple is looking for people who know ASIC, CAD development, Unix, NeXTStep/OpenStep, OOD/OOP, C++, SAP or AIX. If you have experience with these and want to join a passionate company on the verge of greatness, send us your resume today. [Apr 8]"

Interesting little bit there..this is where they hired many of the people who brought us OS X...

Any idea what came of the CAD development?

The original iMac had a G3 in it? I don't remember that. But whatever.
Yep. Original iMacs were 233MHz G3s. 15" CRT all-in-one with a hockey puck mouse. I wanted one, but at the time $1299 was out of my price range. :(

wooooha check these prices lol

don't think i could afford any of them lol

i wonder how much they are worth now?

Holy Macaroons! FROM $5,699 for a Wallstreet! I really feel sorry for the suckers who paid that. It's the 250mhz model too, before the mobo was standardised. Oh well! I suppose it was worth it in those days.

Yep...that looks a bit more sophisticated than what Dell and HP are starting to enter around now. :-D
