iPhone instant American Idol vote app.

Sadly instant game show voting feature is pointless though i won't doubt FOX making an app that allows you to one tap vote for American-Idol advertising and product placement for both sides.

I NEED coverflow for the Phonebook, it would be brilliant to scoll through pics and tap to call. It would definately be a 'show off' feature

ET iPhone home!

I would like to be able to voice dial the dearly departed, ie from 'Beyond the grave!' :p

Or if that's too much for apple's engineering guru's then I'm sure 'Alien contact' must be on the cards some time soon?

As you may now have multiple Home Screens; I would like to have something similar to T-Mobile's Fave Five. The icon would be the person's photo and you tap it to make the phone call. I would keep it as my first home screen.

Video Camera
Some sort of navigation available when using the iPhone to watch videos on a TV and using with a universal dock and remote.
Voice Dial
Voice Activation
Scientific Calculator or Graphing Calculator.

TEG

Disk Mode.

Save e-mail attachments.

Bluetooth data sync to Macs to copy data files (don't need the whole tethering thing - just let me get that e-mail file onto my MacBook).

E-book reader - with text to speech option.

Folding compact keyboard to which the iPhone can be docked to allow it to work better with pocket iWorks.

Pocket iWorks.

8 inch touch screen tablet into which it iPhone is inserted. The tablet has the screen and the power cells to run it. The iPhone provides the processing power and storage. Bluetooth gives mouse and keyboard connectivity for a fantastic ultra-portable.

Compact 100 Gw particle weapon - for traffic.

EM pulse tuned to melt all Zunes within a 100 yard radius.

Er, in the phone app, Second tab from the left, "Recent" and in there, there's ALL(In/Outgoing) or Missed calls.

I want BT or WiFi sync too.

Keyboard, iWork, Skype

I would have to second the foldable keyboard and pocket iWork. That would be amazing to take my iPhone to class next year in Grad. School and type notes on my phone.

Secondly, have a Skype app so I can save on minutes...at least when I have wifi. Now that would be amazing!

Can somebody actually send this thread off to Apple?!
I know some of the ideas are a little crazy, but others are just pure genius!
Wouldn't it be great to actually see some of these things in a later firmware update!

love the idea about the fingerprint scan instead of unlocking with code

i would really like to be able to sync the iphone wirelsessly though. everytime my iphone is within 5 feet of my imac i get feedback noise. it's really annoying. am i the only one with this problem?

funny you mention that-- just happened to me before...

Barcode scanner using the built in camera.

Related to that...

Take photo of the UPC code of something you're tempted to buy.
iPhone goes out on the web to "some service" and locates the item.
iPhone then gives you a list of the 5 best internet prices and the 5 best local prices.
Tapping a local price automatically brings up Google map and drops a push pin on where to find the item.

The "some service" to do this may already exist, but I think it'd be cool to have this level of integration.

With me being a diabetic, I would love for the iPhone to be able to check my blood sugar. Whether it be a laser that penetrates the skin, a fingerprint scanner, or just a the plain-jane way of pricking your finger and being able to affix the blood to a strip on the iPhone. I have been waiting for this to happen in any mobile device as I have to lug my tester everywhere I go, because I'm really anal about knowing what my blood sugar level is. Apple listen up, there are a lot of diabetics out there.

wi not?

I would love to have the hot spot at home feature where as soon as u came into range of a wifi hot spot you were suddenly able to make calls over that instead of using ur minutes! Hey I know its a stretch but if tmobile can do it why can't at&t?

That would be great! Even better, it could also e-mail the results weekly to the doctor, instead of my having to write them down and fax them! I, too, have been waiting (more than 10 years, now) for this to happen. Why, oh, why, hasn't it happened, yet?! There are more than 10,000,000 diabetics in the US alone. We need this! If there are any engineers out there reading this, create this for us, and you could become quite wealthy!

I believe the poster meant separately. It is annoying that there aren't separate listings for ingoing and outgoing calls.

Hilarious! LMFAO!

Off-topic question: before someone blasts me for not using multi-quote...how the heck do you do that?

Update: Oops, I see how to multi-quote, now. Sorry! Won't happen again!

Now you're talking...

Gee, I guess I hit a nerve here when I started this thread. It's hard to imagine that just one short year ago there were no phones that even remotely had a chance to do any of these things. Apple has once again come in and changed the game, ala iPod.

It's hard to imagine that the smart phone category won't grow MUCH bigger this year, when people look at the abilities of the iPhone and compare it to a dumb phone. If Apple's not careful they may end up with 1% of a much bigger market.

Call me crazy, but they may even end up with 2%.

Great work to all who have posted their "Crazy" ideas.

Here's to the Crazy Ones... :)
