So i stumbled across this website, a search engine, and apparently it saves energy. Its just like google, but more environmentally friendly, so why not give it a shot?

    http://www.blackle.com/

Give it a chance, and who knows, it might actually help, you never know.

Doesn't do anything, unless you use a Plasma display or CRT display.

LCDs use the same amount of energy all the time, regardless of what's being displayed on the screen.

No no no, this has been discredited a long time ago. While displaying black instead of white may theoretically use a fleetingly smaller amount of energy than displaying white on CRT monitors, it saves absolutely zero energy on lcd monitors because the technology works differently. And even if you're still using a CRT monitor, it still doesn't wind up saving energy for slightly more involved reasons.

It's a good impulse to try and save energy, but this is a red herring.
