All of the source based valve games are given, and if we're lucky. the classic titles might be included too.

Hopefully a few third party source based games and mods will be available, such as The Ship.

A stack of indie and casual games as well as Torchlight stand a good chance of being included.

And personally i'd love Killing Floor to be included.

Any other titles you think have a good chance?

This would only happen if it were an extremely cold day in hell, considering it would be in direct competition to Apple's App Store. :]

I didn't realize Apple had an application store for OS X applications.

All the games I own :D.

But really, all the Valve games, and all the games that already have a Mac version, so most Indie games. Tempted to buy Galcon Fusion for $2 now, so when the Steam Mac version comes out, maybe I will get it for free :D.

Why NOT? 1.6 isn't as demanding... as long as they fix the openGL issue... but running on D3D is fine with me... CSS would be a given since HL2 is on the roster....

I will wait for Civ to come through Steam, provided it is sometime soon

CS runs ong GoldSource and that has OpenGL compatibilities. I'd couldn't see why they wouldn't.

I just hope the Mac version of Source engine games will be cross compatible with PC. Would be hella-awesome to play Left4Dead2 on my Mac with my buddies who are on PC's :)

Oh no doubt they'll be cross-compatible.

Would be ridiculous to do otherwise.

My guess is Valve will do their Half Life 2 engine games (i.e. Orange Box and Left for Dead series) first.

Then they'll take whatever Mac games are out from 3rd party sources and add them to the store for Digital Distribution. I wouldn't be surprised to see old id Software games on there, probably even older Bungie titles like Halo. Steam for the PC has some old titles on there for cheap. I'm guessing we'll see Lucasarts and Activision stuff too. Whatever Mac versions are out there.

As new releases come out for the Mac (Bioware) they'll get released there in the digital format.

I wouldn't expect any new titles other than Valve's for now.

One thing we should remember is what publishers Valve works with for the Steam service.

There is a possibility that the original publishers will attempt to block ported games.

It's not a nice possibility, but some publishers are douchebags.

    Found this list.

That's all games on Steam which have a native Mac version/Mac port. I haven't verified how accurate that is, but there are quite a few there!

I hope Mass Effect 2 is included in this because I hate booting into W7 to play it.

I'll stick my neck out and say Orange Box for the first major Launch followed by L4D2 (maybe 1 too) and HL2. It would be great to see a major announcement like HL3 being an upcoming dual platform relese but sadly I doubt it as EP 3 hasn't even been done yet.

Hah, maybe porting the steam engine to other platforms is why EP3 has taken so long

I would think that anything on Steam that has a Mac port would be in the publisher's best interst to include it and include it early so they can get in on the Gold Rush that is going to happen when they release Steam for the Mac.

In addition I would assume that Source has been ported to Mac, meaning that anything developed using the Source engine will be available.

The big question will be, will they sell the Orange Box as separate games or have it all packaged together? My bet is that it will be separate to maximize profits.

Also, I am guessing that if you purchased it on PC you will need to repurchase for Mac. I might be wrong, but they need to reclaim some of their development costs for the ports.

Dude, you don't know VALVe. They are not your average game developer.... They wouldn't pull something like that.

EP3 and/or Portal 2 are speculated to be announced at the GDC on March 11. The latest Portal updates give clues in the form of an ARG.
