There's no way on earth it will be a minimal increase, if it is (minimal) your unlimited will transform to a max of 5gb

They've also said they'll be no sim only plans

I don't know their full business plan, but I imagine they are trying to build up a long term customer base. The way they are keeping 4G only on EE makes it look as if they are going to eventually fold Orange and T-Mobile into EE as a new super carrier. I expect a LOT of EE advertising to appear once they announce their tariffs, and I wonder if they are going to try and keep the barrier to entry low, so they can get as many people over as possible before the other carriers get 4G...

I expect a lot of advertising, but also quite high prices. I think they'd want to make as much noise about being first as possible, to attract enough people, but will also want to keep numbers manageable so as not to overload their network. At least initially.

Once they've proven themselves, and a few customers have shouted about how quick it is, then they'll potentially come up with the deals to get the next tranche in just before the other networks launch their (better) services, and before the iPhone 5(s) supports those other services.

But then performance will diminish, and growth will slow, with people shouting about how much better everyone else is. People will migrate to the others at the next contract renewal, clogging up their networks, and the cycle will continue ad infinitum... At least until 5G!

But isn't that they way of technology now?

BTW - people talking about SIM-only deals. I'm sure I read (although can't now find) a paragraph in small print that they won't initially be offering either payg or SIM-only, but 'hope to in the future'.

We'll find out sooner wont we. Right now I'm with 02 pay & go £15 top up every month.

I'm waiting for EE to release the pricing structure, if it is too expensive - I may go for this route 02 is offering unlimited call/sms along with 1GB data cap for £20 p/m (offer will end 31 OCT)

:(

Three offer 200 mins, unlimited data and 5000 texts for £15 or Giffgaff over unlimited data, texts and 250 mins so £10 - much better!

I guess you didn't get the message where Giffgaff were planning to move the unlimited data up to £15, then.

i think its £13, unless they have changed it again?!

really hoping that there is a sim only 4G tariff somewhere along the lines next year. Wont be in my area for a while (Cambridge).

Does anyone know if there is a list of when it will be turned on in certain areas?

Just realised that they haven't finalised the consultation. It is £13, but the option isn't much better.
