Hello,

I recently bought the LG 27UL850-W, at first glance it looks great, however I have a question.

I have the impression that there is a slight fog/blur or grain on the screen like if it was due to a screen protector. I have this feeling even when I change the device, it's even more noticiable on a white screen.

I know it's not ideal, but you can get an idea of what I'm talking about in the picture. Do other owners of this screen have this impression or am I the only one?

Thanks for your help :)

I have this monitor. I can't see what you're describing in your picture. My image is sharp, but a 4K/5K iMac or XDR looks sharper because of the glossy screen.

I don't really have a problem with the sharpness. I think it's the anti-glare hard coating which gives me this impression.

I still asked the seller for an exchange to make sure I don't have a faulty monitor.

Thank you for your answer ! :)

I have a UL600 and when scaling the external display from native 4K (which is way too small), I feel like the scaling is blurry as compared to my Windows machine. It seems this is a common problem with MacBooks...but I'm hoping to find a solution to increase the crispness when using an external monitor in docked (lid closed) mode.

Hey!

I just bought this screen —it's arriving tomorrow— did you fix your issue or what is going on. I bought a external screen because I want to change my position while working, but to be honest I'm a little bit disappointed since it seems that it's pretty impossible to get an affordable external screen that just works with a MacBook Pro

The seller sent me another one, with the same result. But I don't see my issue as a problem anymore, it's very comfortable to work on it.
I probably just needed to adapt to anti-glare hard coating.

Make sure HDR is turned off in macOS display settings.
