    I saw mention of this 3440 x 1440 monitor :

in another thread and was wondering if it might be a good substitute for two 2560x1440 NEC PA272s ? I know in the end its quite a bit less real-estate, but wouldn't have the discontinuity that two monitors have.

I'm currently using two NEC 2690WUX2 (1920 x 1200) and was going to spring for two of the PA272s for my nMP, but now I'm wondering ?? I'll mostly be doing video editing, but don't need or want 4K right now. Any thoughts ?

Man, LG has some nice monitors coming down the pipe line, but they haven't mentioned release date or price on any of these bad boys.

If it were me I'd want one monitor, never understood the multi monitor set ups.

They refer to it as thunderbolt 2....but how can a monitor be thunderbolt 2? I thought only the data could take double bandwidth if it were available and called for?

I wonder also about the release date.
I have always used two monitors, but mainly just for the extra screen real estate. For instance, using Premiere, I can have all the UI windows open on the left screen and see the video output on a large window on the right. I'm guessing that this is a Pretty common practice.

I would really appreciate if anyone else would add their thoughts about using this new LG monitor as a substitute for a dual monitor setup !

They do produce displays that come with ghosting problem as well.

    I just brought my 34UM95.
I can't stand dual monitor setup with the bezel right in the middle.

Having one monitor off to the side
annoys me as well. Doesn't look nice IMO.

So this is perfect for me. The wide screen is perfect for me in FCP X.
3 browsers open at the same, no problem.
2 browsers open, and a video playing to the side is awesome too.

Even Portal is extra immersive, but the beauty is watching movies.
    no more annoying borders.
