WTF all I have to say - Its a bit too much for my liking, but then I am not in Marketting so who knows what those guys are smoking when they get ideas like this one.

For those in the US, please remember other places in the world have different standards and expression.

Take this one for example.

That ad is sexually suggestive. Other foreign ads have nudity. There's notthing wrong with any of that.

The original ad we're talking about here contains voyer/stalker/rape fantasy elements.

Which country, pray tell, finds that sort of thing acceptable in their mainstream media? Because you seem to be implying that some of them would be ok with those things, but I'm just not convincined. Do you have any examples that show things like that?

Exactly what I was going to say. Drastic difference between them.

obviously the ad is doing exactly what it's intended to do. Get People Talking...

Commercial Industry has always pushed the envelope. If it get people talking about their ad, good or bad, its a success.

It's one thing to simulate the rubbing of her [very sensitive body part]. I mean, that's outrageous enough, but I can get over that.

I saw a prototype the other day of a phone that has an elastic skin, that ripples in conjunction with another phone of the same type being stroked.

Almost fifteen years ago I led a demo at a phone company of what we thought would be possible because of the rise of broadband and the internet. (Side note: we got a lot right, but didn't foresee the rise of free photo storage sites.)

One of the possible applications we pointed out to the (female) vice president, was teledildonics.

Between this and that "Scarlet" thing for the TV's I think someone at LG needs to lose their job.

Arguably not. After all, we're all sitting here talking about it, no? Viral marketing is a new thing. Make a video people will talk about, put it on a site like youtube, and you're marketing without people really being aware they're being marketed to.

If it's just offensive enough to get talked about, well, then that's perfect for viral marketing.
