1. Yes, there are ads in LG's newest webOS TVs.
2. There is a difference between collecting data to improve a product and using such data to sell other products.
3. LGs processor has nothing to do with dynamic bias lights other than the fact that it prevents the use of them.
4. It's not just that there are more apps on tvOS than webOS it's that the ones everyone use gets updated more often and longer than the webOS version.
5. It's good, but it does have lag.
6. That's Single Sign-on, not zero.
7. Exactly. Being a separate box is better.
8. You simply can't use a wii remote with the same about of granular control as a touchpad. If you need faster movement navigating menus then that's the result of a poor UI and not a better remote.

I have used webos on a recent TV. It's far better than it used to be but it's still not as good as tvOS. Some of the issues are the result of it being built into the TV. Some of the issues are intentional choices to extract extra value from customers. Others are unique approaches that just aren't as good.

1. Nope, I never saw ads on my TV either, luckily.

AFAIK you can opt-out, or just not switch it on while installing the TV for the first time.

Basically this. Most people are comparing Apple TV's being better than streaming boxes and smart TV's from 4-5 years ago. The processing power has improved immensely, and most (if not all) of the stuff you'd do on an Apple TV can be done on the TV itself just as fast. I had an Apple TV 4K last gen which I used on my dumb HDTV. After a week of me having bought the LG C9, I decided to give the Apple TV to a family member, as there's no point of adding something to my setup which my TV can already do.

I have 2 LG C1 but i didnt get any Banner. Do you still get this promotion if you had the 1 year from apple or is this just for new accounts?

Has anybody read the terms and conditions on the free trial screen?. It states that after the 3 Month trial period you will be billed £19.99 a month, I had to look several times as I did not believe it at first, thought I misread the text. Also states that the app is independent of Apple or something along those lines. For that reason I am out.
