Hi,

does the LG UltraFine 5K use PWM? The 4K version of the display apparently uses PWM (according to RTings), but I can't find any PWM info about the UltraFine model with 5K resolution.

I'm asking because the display seems to cause eye strain (at least in my testing, have to do some more though).

I have exactly the same problem. I'm considering buying LG UltraFine 5K, but I cannot find any information about PWM. Did you buy it maybe or test it somehow by yourself?

When I tested the LG UltraFine 5K for a couple of days I got the same PWM-symptoms as with OLED iPhones, like irritating feeling in the eyes, headache after some time. So I wouldn't be surprised if the display uses PWM.

Thanks for a quick answer! That's not good then cause I'm also quite sensitive for flickering... It's a pity there's no good 5K flicker-free monitor for MacBook Pro out there. The same for the newest iPhones. I would like to buy iPhone 13 Mini, but I would like it to be flicker free without PWM...

The Dell UP2715K uses PWM, but at an extremely high frequency - I'm sensitive to PWM and don't notice anything. It's been discontinued and doesn't have USB-C/TB3 connectivity though.
