Hello!
I have been using the Appstore-edition of LibreOffice Vanilla from Collabora Software for a long time.
Though LibreOffices development is going on, my version remains on 7.2.5. Furthermore the app seems to have been removed from the store and is nowhere mentioned on Collaboras homepage.
So, does anyone know whether they have stopped developing it?
Thanks

Why use the App Store version? The one that you can download from their website is just as good.

Hello!
Just in case someone else is interested in this: I reached out to Collabora's sales department and they confirmed the product is no longer available.
Concerning the App Store: until now I always tried to get software from it whenever possible because I was under the impression the automatic updates are better organized and there are basic checks for malware...
Might be I should change this in the future...

Thanks for reaching out! I also thought it's more convenient to have automatic LibreOffice updates with the App Store version.

So, one year ago I paid 9 Euros to have exactly 6 months of automatic updates. Well at least some part went to the LibreOffice Foundation.

And Collabora didn't even bother to proactively communicate the discontinuation... bad business practice and not a good sign for the app store in general.

It is not obvious what advantages, if any, there are with NeoOffice over LibreOffice: so, personally,
I am not going to pay for NeoOffice when LibreOffice does the work for nix.

If I remember correctly, NeoOffice was one of the branches of OpenOffice. The same can be said/is true for LibreOffice, the difference is that is a continuity of the Go-oo branch.

So there are some differences and I think, out of the two and would say, that LibreOffice has more features. But I can be mistaken. In the past I did try the demo version of NeoOffice, but when LibreOffice 1.0 came out I did fully switch to it. For my needs it is more than enough.

The homebrew cask is downloaded from there, so I should have that version. The advantage of using homebrew for me is that I can automatically update all apps installed with it from time to time.

App Store version is back, but for a fee. Collabra is handling the App Store part. Guess live support is part of the deal.

Not Collabra, now The Document Foundation.

Most confusing the App Store now has Collabra Office AND LibreOffice (by The Document Foundation). Same price for each.

Does not include Java, so Base is not as functional in the direct download. I assume that doesn't matter to most users.

I have toyed with using Homebrew for more apps, but much prefer using MacUpdater to keep all my apps at the latest version.
