Which is better for your laptop? Have the lid closed or open when hooked up to external display?

I will be using it for gaming on boot camp (Crysis, CoD 4, L4D, etc.)

    Does it matter?

Open helps for keeping things cool. Closed means it only needs to drive one display.

Personally, I use my MBP with both the main display and an external on a regular basis, as I like the extra real estate. It gives a boost in productivity when I'm working.

I don't play games, so I can't comment on that side.
