Thanks biff.... I didn't know there was plastic to peel off. I removed it and all is good now.
pretty disappointing that majority of you guys are not liking this case![]()
You can't go off of others on here. Buy it and see if its for you. If you are active outdoors, work as a first responder, military etc, its a great case. If playing MW3 is your form of being a bad azz, probably not your case. Maybe a Speck Candy or whatever it's called![]()
Returned mine today. I don't plan on giving it another shot unless they change the screen protector.
I've experienced all these things...very disappointing. After having this case for also 3 days, I pretty much decided to return the case back to best buy. The speakerphone function is pretty much worthless. No body can understand you when you have it on speakerphone. Typing with this flexible screen protector is the worst thing ever, miss typing occurs much more frequently. When using the phone to my ear sometimes the caller and I hear a ringing noise that the phone makes from being in the case. I confirmed its the case by taking the phone out of the case and the ringing noise went away. The worst flaw is when i try to end the call i press the "end call" button and nothing happens, I have to take the phone out of the case to tap the end call button. I'm sorry life proof but if I can use the functionality of the phone then the case is pretty much worthless..

I have also experienced the same problems with not being able to end a call. This is strange, because the issue is not touch screen sensitivity in that area. I am able to fully utilize that area of the screen when I'm not in a call. However, when I try to end a call, The button press registers, but it will not end the call. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Is there some sensor being obscured elsewhere on the case, that would have an impact on being able to end the call?
This is mind-boggling to me. Why are we be able to register the touch in that area but unable to actually end the call? How could a case cause that?
Sounds like there are at least some folks who are not having this issue with the case. Is that right?
That is exactly what was going on with the 2 cases I purchased from Best Buy. I'm leaning towards the pillowing of the screen protector and maybe a combination of a poorly cut proximity sensor cutout? I tried testing the proximity sensor during a call with the case on by placing my finger over the sensor and the screen would remain on. But as soon as I removed my finger the screen would turn off! Then the only way I could get the screen to turn back on was by pressing the home button or the lock button.
I went to a different Best Buy location today to return my 2 cases and explained what was going on to the customer service rep. She told me that the first batch of Lifeproof cases they received had almost a 50% return rate due to pillowing of the screen protector, touchscreens being unresponsive or the sides of the case being damaged. (I'm not sure what kind of damage she's referring to on the sides) But she said her latest shipment of Lifeproof cases have not been returned. So I took a chance and exchanged it for another black Lifeproof case. And what do you know? I haven't had any problems with the touchscreen and the sound is even better! The audio no longer vibrates the entire case when set above 50% and sounds a lot better than the distorted audio I was getting with my first 2 cases. The pillowing on this new case is definitely a lot less noticeable than my first 2. But I guess since the screen protector lays flatter now, I do notice some rainbowing with the screen off.
I'm going to take my wife's case back tomorrow and exchange it for another. The audio on her phone sounded just like my first 2 cases.

Thanks for the update. I will try another one. Did the quality of the screen protector seem the same on all the cases? As I posted a bit earlier, I noticed that the iPhone 5 Lifeproof screen protector is a bit more blurry than the two iPhone 4 cases I had. Mine appears to have some coating on it, perhaps anti-glare coating, that creates a perceptible blurriness that wasn't on the previous cases.

can anyone make a video review of this case?
I just found using headphones with the included adapter renders control functions disabled. I cannot pause, skip or backtrack any playing music. I assume that also means you cannot answer incoming phone calls on an external wired headset? Well.. that sucks. I haven't tested this with other headphone sets yet so I hope it's isolated with just this pair. Otherwise... yeah.
Most headphone plugs (at least mine) will not reach the jack due to design of the case which you basically have to used the adapter for.
If the included adapter only has two rings around the plug, then none of the headset (or microphone) features will work. Seems like a big oversight.
I'm waiting on my local Best Buy to have the case in stock so that it's easier to return it if I don't like it.
