Hey guys just ordered a LifeProof fre for my iPhone X. I haven’t been able to see one in person. But are they real thick? And are they a good case? My main concern is I don’t want a real thick case but still want something that protects.

I've used the Fre in the past and yes, they are very good cases. They are fairly thick overall, but you get used to them pretty quickly. I had one on my 7 but I had a beef with how far up the bottom came on the screen. I had a really hard time swiping up to get the menu up. So, I switched to a Otter Box Commuter instead.

Such rugged cases are generally always really thick. I like to touch the glass back of my phone so I’m using a Rhinoshield bumper case. Solid protection if you ask me.

Yeah, but is that waterproof?.. Fre is waterproof I think for 6 feet of water for 10 minutes or something like that.. I’ve had 4.. first one didn’t save phone from a 30 lb. anchor, but what would... 2nd one the charge port cover chipped of all things.. I contacted Lifeproof. they sent me a new one. 3rd one, I had it in my backpack without phone in it. The screen cover separated from the case.. They sent me a new one.. I still have that one.. I carry it in my backpack without phone in it a lot. I usually only use it when I go on water or in hazardous areas for extended periods of time. That’s because, yes, it is a bit thick, and I like my leather case, but it’s waterproof as stated. I believe screen cover has separated on this one as well. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good case. Just don’t carry it around without a phone in it.. (6s+ btw..)

Do you use your phone under water on a regular basis?! Since iPhone 7, all of the models are more than enough water resistant for most users.

There not any good huh?
They’ve improved over time. I’m a life proof fan, both models, the frē and the nüüd. But I prefer the nüüd with a glass screen protector.

But I would also take a look at Lifeproof’s NEXT series too. They aren’t waterproof, but they are a pretty protective case.
