I have never tried a Lifeproof case and am considering it. Does the screen cover take away from the beauty of the screen? I always get glass protectors and love them, but I am really interested in the waterproof aspect of the Lifeproof.

The cases don’t last. They wear out quickly and break easily. Save your money. I’ve been through 3 or 4 on my iPhone 8 Plus and stopped paying the 5 dollars to warranty them out. They used to be a lot better quality before otter box bought them out.

Bummer, thank you. My search continues then!

This is my experience as well.

I bought a Lifeproof waterproof case to use snorkeling and absolutely love it. The video I shot was so clear and photos were much better than I anticipated. That said, I didn’t use it on a daily basis—only when I’m going to the beach or will be around water, so I can’t much attest to its day-in, day-out durability.

I’ve used life proof cases for years and would recommend the lifeproof next case over the Fre’. My lifeproof Next case protected my iPhone X from being run over by a truck and car back to back. It’s not water proof like the fre’ but it’s clear which shows the beauty of the phone and allows you to either use a screen protector of just have the regular screen. Lifeproof also offers warranty replacements but you do pay like $5.00 for shipping if I recall correctly.

I absolutely LOVED my LifeProof Next case, can't recommend it though. I've gone through 3 warranty replacements, the rubber trim completely separates from the phone after a month or so. If you look at the Amazon reviews there are several pictures of everyone else having the same issue. I was content to deal with the warranty replacements but now LifeProof has completely pulled all of the LifeProof Next stock and I can no longer have it replaced. They offered me the Slam(cheaper case) as well as the Fre. I opted for the Fre not realizing that I have to take my screen protector off to get the case to close.

I’ve been reading user reviews on the Lifeproof FRE, and have seen some folks saying that you can get the case to close with a glass screen protector, and some saying that you can’t get it to close.

I have a TechArmor ballistic glass screen protector on my X, which is supposed to be only 0.3mm thick. I only want to use a waterproof case for specific and relatively rare occasions. So I’m looking for one that can accommodate a glass screen protector since I don’t want to remove the screen protector just for rare occasions.

Which screen protector do you have that you can’t squeeze into the Lifeproof Fre case?

Anybody know of a waterproof case that will accommodate a 0.3mm glass screen protector?

Thanks!

I just wish the Fre would get rid of the Apple logo window in the back. The cases have been getting better each generation so I'd like to see reviews for the XS models.

Catalyst cases are way better in my experience. The mute switch on lifeproof broke on mine and my wife's and the charging door thing is just an accident waiting to happen. I had a Catalyst on my iphone 6 for two years with no problems and the screen fits a lot better than lifeproof.

My experience too. Not very life proof.

I'm using the Zagg invisible Shield.
