I want to trade my phone with an iphone 5s but the iphone fell in the water once but it's still working without any problem and I am wondering for how long will it still work before the interior gets completely ruined? will it get ruined or will it work like before?

just disassemble it completely clean it completely and all will be ok

You never know.
It could last a few days, few months or years. Never know what might corrode and when.
If corrosion sets in random things will stop working.
Its a gamble.
THAT'S WHY it needs to be disassembled and cleaned in ultrasonic bath .. !

Damage is probably done by now.
What you said should be done right away but not many know how to do it properly.
You think anyone can take everything apart in an iphone, clean every component properly and put it all together without having a bunch of extra parts laying around!:D

I hear you. If you repair them and you got the experience and are comfortable then its worth.
Most people here would not be able to take it all apart, dry it or remove the corrosion and put it all back together.
Skills are needed or more damage can be caused to the device:D
