Light brown leather loop

The light brown is too light. In some of the earlier pictures it looker darker. I wanted to get a dark brown band. When going to my try on appointment I was extremely disappointed. It really is "light brown". The way Apple labels it's case colors (light pink, black silicone) I thought it may be darker. Ended up going with the black. The blue would have been my second choice. That one is labeled bright blue but I think it's actually almost a navy.
Neither the Brown nor the Blue are bright. They are both fairly muted. I preferred the Blue myself during my try on appointment.
I'd mostly agree - I would call it a "medium brown". It's a bit darker than some of the early photos, but not dark enough to match the shade of common "dark brown" leather belts and shoes.
This is really too bad - I was hoping Apple would have a "dark brown" option and will probably end up going with the link band instead, since the brown won't match my work belts/shoes.

Pics just don't work well. I thought I liked the Stone best but after seeing them they all looked great but the Stone was the least liked. Was really surprised at how well I liked the blue.
Also blown away at how nice the colored Sport's straps looked. I thought only White or Black to be safe and Green last. In person the Green looks fantastic and was loving the Pink (looks like a rich coral color). Even the Blue looked great and the White and Black looked plain jane in comparison.

Agreed - tough to capture in photos. I was surprised at how much I liked the blue too - not as bright as some pics make it seem.
The blue has a very elegant and rich look in person.
Strange, because I was convinced the Stone was the most unique looking Loop but after seeing it was just meh.
While this is about 99% wrong for all of the other images, the images in the Apple Store app are strikingly similar to in person especially if you use the "Explore+" view.
The photo attached here was taken with my iPhone today at my appointment in my local Apple Store, and I've used the native editing tools in the Photos app to change the color and brightness to match it as closely as possible, in my opinion, to what they look like in person. View on an iPhone (6 if possible) for color accuracy if you want to be extra sure!

Probably product differentiation. 42mm watch costs more than the 38mm. They are driving increased average sale price by creating specific packages and limiting others.
Probably the same reason the modern buckle is only available in 38mm.
I don't know the reason, just theorizing.
Perhaps Apple thinks that a lot of women won't want it. I don't think the 38mm is just a "woman's watch" (and I say this as a woman) but there's a bit of stereotyping in the product planners, probably.
As soon as Apple Watch product feedback is available (there's no category for it on their feedback page), ask for 38mm leather bands. I know I will be -- I want more options than the Milanese Loop for infinitely-sizable bands.
