i really hate that ios16 removed the automatic dark light mode wallpapers and won’t allow me to put widgets on wallpapers that I have set using personal automation to switch between dark and light wallpapers

there’s no work around for this!

fun fact: if you still have the iOS 15 wallpaper in iOS 16, it still changes based on the light/dark mode

How do you still have IOS15 wallpapers after upgrading to IOS16? Mine disappears

But after I change to the stock iOS 16 wall papers I can’t change back to iOS 15 wallpaper which I had updated with

In iOS 16, you can have multiple wallpapers saved, similar to how you can have multiple watch faces saved on the Apple Watch. As long as you don't delete or modify the original one that was there after the upgrade, you can always change back to the iOS 15 wallpaper you had before.

There is a workaround for the light/dark mode wallpaper. Create/save multiple wallpapers (one light, one dark, and perhaps even some in between), link them to Focus Modes, and then have your focus modes automatically change throughout the day to change your wallpaper. You can even use Lock Screen widgets if you want.

Has there been any rumor Apple will be reintroducing light/dark wallpaper mode in a later version of iOS 16?
