Hey guys.

So I have noticed that the light sensor is not that sensitive on this iPad. It seems to work half of the time. If i put the ipad into bright light a few seconds go by then the screen goes brighter. If i cover the sensor at the top above the front camera it doesnt dim.

Is there anything i can do to fix this?

iPad has iOS 5.1.1 on it.

Thanks all.

iOS does not dim the screen using the brightness sensor while the device is in use, only when you wake the device from sleep.

I understand that. But when I walk into a room with low light the screen brightness should lower, like it does on my iPhone 4s. Not so?
Only if you sleep the device and then wake it in a dim room. Only Apple's notebooks dim the screen while the device is on and in use.

If you find that it's still too bright in that room, Apple's devices "learn" your brightness preferences based on what you adjust the brightness setting to.

Just tried this now - that works perfectly.

Thanks for clearing it up.
