Hi all. I am thinking about purchasing a used macbook.
    Either an 08 or 09.
Most seem to have light spots on the screens but are said to be fully functional. They have either been seller or apple refubished.
Does anyone know exactly what the light spots are and are they problematic at all? Do they get worse?

Mostly I plan on using the macbook for video editing.

    Thanks.

    J

It's basically the wires on the back of the LCD pushing little dents in the layers that make up the screen. Apple once had a free replacement program for these defects. If you call up Apple Care you can find out if they are still doing that.

Nope - it's not a free replacement - that was on the PowerBook G4s!

    Thanks for your reply.
Are the light spots something that is a big deal or do people just get used to them?

    Thanks
