I love my illuminated keyboard on my Macbook Pro. However, I always use my wireless keyboard when watching movies with front row and the lights bug me when I am watching something. I am kind of tired of going into system preferences every time to change the setting. Is there a way I can turn of the lights only when I am using front row?

Can't you hold F5 so that the keyboard backlight turns off? Or are you saying that's inconvenient and you want some sort of script that automatically turns off the backlight upon entering Front Row?

There might be a way to do it through AppleScript, but otherwise, no.

If you haven't tried setting a timeout, that might work. Even set for 1 minute, there would be minimum interference when watching a movie.
