Looking for suggestions as to whether or not 3rd party cables are recommended for use with the iPad Air 2? I need a few extra cables (to be used with Iphone 6 Plus also) and would like to avoid paying what Apple charges if 3rd party cables will not harm my devices. Thanks!

I have a few of the cheaper cables (but not the chargers) that seem to work well. Look for the "Made for iPod, etc." label on the package. Lots of folks on here will recommend only the Apple branded cables. Your call.

I've used Amazon cables and haven't noticed any problems.

Is there a chance non Apple cables could damage a device?

It won't damage the device but if nots guaranteed to work.

I own all these cables listed... If you have any questions I can help answer. I personally like the pawtec cables because of the braided cable that come in different color options.

I have a 2m Belkin Lightning lead and that's really good quality, seems made tougher than the Apple lead.
