Ive been away on holiday for the past 10 days and came home to this. Nothing was plugged into it. Just the brick and the cable plugged into the wall. This is the first lightning cable failure I've ever had and it went in spectacular fashion. Im planning on making a genius appointment and asking them to replace it since its still under warranty. Do you think they will replace both the adapter and the cable or just the cable? Just thought I would share this.

That's a fired hazard. I'm talk to Apple about more then a cable and USB adapter.
