Does your lightning port have a red mark in it? Purchased a new iPhone 5 today and noticed it but I don't think I ever checked my first one. I know it hasn't been anywhere near water yet.

Lovely:(. Back to the store... I'll be thrilled if they try to say I did this.

Is it possible you got a little water in there? I don't know where the iPhone 5's moisture indicator is, but on previous phones, it's in the headphone jack...look in there, if you see red, it mean's the phone's gotten wet. Maybe on the 5 it's in the lightning connector.

Here's a pic...

On way back to apple store. Ugh!

Not a chance. I've only had it for like 4 hours. Haven't been near water.

Well... They opened it up and blew some air on it and it blew away. Must have been a random piece of paper from production?

Maybe a shirt fiber? Were you wearing a red shirt around the time when you got the iPhone? I got a shirt fiber stuck in my N64 cartridge slot :(

No red clothing at all today. I think it was from when it was made since it was tucked in.
