Good to hear that some Applestores are getting them. I went to my local store yesterday and they had not seen them yet. The "genius" was even joking about selling them on the black market (he was definitely joking). So hopefully next time I go I can see them!

+1

I wonder when they'll all have them?

Just picked up the adapter (with the cable) at the Santa Monica Apple store. The guy working there said they just received shipment of them today. Although, they didn't have the adapter without the cable.

I also called the Manhattan Beach store and they said they have it too.

Apple store Lehigh Valley has plenty of the adapters both with and without the cable.

Well, I'll happily be called that if I can steer the thread into it's intended purpose, which is exactly what happened.

Sorry if I hurt some feelings.

Just tired to see every lightning to 30 thread turn into "I got mine" from online or "I got one at this store" when they think we are talking about the USB cable.

Glad to finally hear that Apple Stores are getting stock.

Ok, dick

ohhh, i hit a nerve! ;)

keep on posting without reading.
It makes things more fun!
You didn't hit a nerve, you're just a dick, but as I stated, you already know that...
You called out two posters that told you the adaptors were available at Apple stores in their area telling them "no they aren't" because you talk out of your ass...you made a fool of yourself
kma :)

After speaking with all 3 Apple Stores in Orlando, I finally picked up a 30 pin to Lightning cabled version at the Altamonte Apple Store.

The Tampa store had only the cabled version. I grabbed one even though I prefer to get just the adapter.
I'm happy to finally get one. It works great.

Adapters and adapter cables in stock at Barton Creek, Austin.

Ordered the adapter with phone, bought the cable today which works better in the car.

Walked into the San Diego UTC store while on my lunch break today, and picked up the 0.2m adapter. They had about 30 of them on the shelf, but didn't have the short adapter, nor did they have the USB-to-Lightning cable.

Called the store, was told they're in stock. Showed up and found none on shelves; Turns out they're hiding them in the back.

The problem is Apple is charging $29.99 for the lightning to 30 pin & $39.99 for the lightning to 30-with a 0.2 m extension. It's cheaper just to buy a new lightning to USB cable for $19.99. It may be worth the adapters if you just want to carry one cable (really pressed for space) but otherwise just buy a lightning to USB cable. Hopefully 3rd party vendors will offer a cheaper price for the adapters soon if Apple allows.

It's not simply a matter of getting another cable. Those of us who want to use docks or car stereos or other accessories that are generally hooked up via the 30 pin cable NEED the adapter.

I was able to purchase both the adapter & cable @ The Apple Store in Pasadena, CA not sure which one will work better with my BOSE sound dock

Spot on. I bought 2 adapters (without cable) and use one on my car charger and the other on my iHome Studio speakers. Attach the adapter and forget about it. Very pleased with them.

Cherry Hill NJ Apple Store had the Lightning to 30pin adapters in stock (non-cabled ones, not sure about the cabled ones though). I have no idea how many because they were bring them out from the back only to those who asked for them.

These things are really small and seems like it would break easily if you pushed the screen to hard while docked. It really needs a back support or maybe to be at least the same width of the iP5 where it could 'seat' in a little bit. For $30 that's what it should have been. It looks and feels like it cost them a nickle to make.

Exactly. I need the 30 pin to lightning cable or adapter so I can use my existing Onkyo dock.

The adapter worked fine in BOSE dock. I had thought the phone would tip over while docked with adapter that I purchased the cable as backup.

Best Buy in West Covina, CA had a few of the adapters It was located within the Apple section

Southern California Apple stores have had them for at least a few days.

So you posted that you "got mine" in a post asking specifically about brick and mortar stores when you got it online???

Ok.

And no Apple Store has gotten a single one yet.
If they did, it would be mentioned on here already.
Everyone who has gotten one has bought them from Apple online.

What store did you get it from? We are dying to hear which store actually has stock!

Thanks.

I was actually impressed at how sturdy the lightning connector is for its size.

It supports my phone entirely on its own and it doesn't feel like it's going to bend or break.

In SoCal

I was told by a retail employee that the adapters will be readily available starting the 28th.

I have one on order online from Apple but have been looking to see if I can get one locally. I haven't had any luck.

Update I was able to pick one up today at the Brea Mall Apple store on my way home from work. Cancelled my online order.

I ordered an adaptor and a spare lightning cable on the Australian Apple store on the 11th of October ... received the 30 pin adaptor on the 18th and the cable on the 19th. I am located in Perth Western Australia.:D
