Has anyone else noticed usb-c charges slower in some cases? So previously I had a usb-a to lightning plugged into one of those 12v car chargers. Bought an anker usb-a to usb-c cable that says this:

  • Fast Sync & Charge: Supports fast charging up to 15W (3A/5V) and data transfer speeds up to 480Mbps. (Not compatible with Power Delivery)
The lightning cable charged my 14 pro twice as fast though. Anyone else noticing anything like this ?

I just noticed this now, and it's a bit annoying because I have several car chargers and power banks rated at 5V*2.1 amps, or 12 watts, but no matter what USB-A to C cable I use, my 15PM never charges faster than around 7.5 watts (drawing 1.5A instead of 2A).

It seems USB-C is a downgrade if you're using USB-A chargers and power banks.

I guess I'm going to have to upgrade my stuff to USB-C. It's not a huge deal, it's old and I'll be able to charge my stuff even faster than 12W, but still annoying!

I had a USB-A to C cable lying around at home. My iPhone refuses to charge. It works with my android though. As my car adapter has a USB-C port as well, I ordered for a 14cm long USB3 cable which can also use to transfer files faster from iPhone to Mac.
