Was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this problem. My wife is a photographer and she uses Lightroom 3.6 (with Photoshop of course) to edit her photos. I have noticed that as she uses it, my memory usage goes sky high, almost using all the memory on my machine, which is 12GB. We have the free app FreeMemory to see the usage. Is this normal? Should it be using that much? iMac model is listed below.

That is a good thing. Sure would be a waste if you paid for 12GB and the software never used it. What's happening is that files are being cached in RAM. If an OS is doing it's job it will find a used for all the RAM you can give it.
