Does anyone regularly use lightroom classic on a 13" macbook pro? I have a 15" model but I think I would really like the smaller size and weight of the 13". The only thing holding me back is the performance of lightroom. I'm no professional photographer or anything but i do take a lot of pictures with my A7 III and process all the raw files with it.

Any thoughts or experience would be greatly appreciated!

I use Lightroom 6 on my 2015 13” with 8GB RAM. It handles the photos surprisingly well. I find HDRing takes a toll, but general use it runs great. I’m using a K70, which is 24MP and using RAW.

Any of the current 13” models will run fantastically I’d imagine.

Hi, I am currently running the last version of Lightroom Classic on a 13" 2018 MBP with touch bar. I have 16Gb of RAM. It runs smoothly without any issue (my library is about 30k+ photos, DNG format embedding the original raw file).

I don't know how it would handle only 8Gb as Lightroom is known to use a lot of RAM due to the non destructive process. This is the only limiting factor I can imagine.

I found the smaller display to be too confining, I'd not recommend it for that reason alone.

I was use MacBook pro 2017 13" with 8 GB and latest lightroom.

When process A7 III raw file in lightroom it would taken around 6 GB of ram. It still run smoothly.

I would recommend you choose MacBook Pro with 16 GB ram.
