You may discuss software like Limewire that can be used to obtain both licensed and unlicensed media, i.e., give other members the benefit of the doubt. You may discuss how to use these programs (features, mechanics, performance, etc.).

You may not ask for or post specific site names or URLs for sites whose primary purpose is to illegally share music, and you may not ask for or give assistance when the request states that the goal is to obtain commercial material without paying for it. This applies to commercial software as well. If you are in doubt, contact us before posting. Please report threads or posts if you think they violate our policies.

Given this definition, I wouldn't think that posting Limewire's URL woud be considered a violation because its primary purpose is not to illegally share music. It is true that it can be used illegally, but so can other software and hardware. I have no water to carry for Limewire; I just hate to see a dampening of discussion about software that can be useful to people for legitimate purposes like sharing information. Please advise...

This thread may not discuss the use of iPod Touch per se, but it very much relates to how to get legally obtained information from Limewire onto iTunes and then onto the Touch.

Limewire Is A Haven For Viruses. Use Acquisition Or Download A Transmission And Download Full Albums.

Actually it's not our job to determine if the songs he or she is downloading are copyright protected songs or not.

The question is how to get songs from limewire to itunes. Lets stick to that.

A song you made yourself? Distributed over LimeWire? Of course!

It's just quite difficult to determine the legality of the music downloaded by the OP. Therefore, we have to give him the detriment-of-the-doubt.

I actually did do this once a number of years ago. Sometimes you want to send a song as a WAV and the yahoo/google servers won't let you upload large files like this.
