Hi,

I just got my MB M1 Pro 16 and it is unable to connect to my external monitor with HDMI 60hz. 30 hz is the maximum.

I tried 2 different HDMI cables (2.0 and 2.1) with my LG27UD68-W (has HDMI and display port 1.4) screen an a Samsung 4k 60 hz screen (only HDMI).

On my Windows tower, 60hz is working with both cables and both screens.

Even when I use the external screen with 30hz, Safari becomes laggy on my MBP screen and scrolling is not possible any more. The lag stops when I pull out the HDMI cable from my MBP.

I even tried out the EasyRes app but it does not show a 60hz option.

Is there any know solution? It is quite annoying...

Thank you very much.

Not sure if relevant to you, but my LG monitor has 2 HDMI ports and a displayport, and only the second HDMI port (and the displayport) supports 60Hz at 4k. It was driving me crazy trying to figure it out until i swapped inputs on the back of the monitor.

I tried it out but but it does not make any difference...

I'm back. The system is still very laggy when used with an external monitor even if it's better than before. It is perhaps a mac os issue.
