I know that it takes 6GB per minute, but still, I could record almost 20 minutes of that in my iPhone 13 Pro 128GB. That's not really a short amount, if Apple allowed it.

The lower capacity storage usually has lower writing speeds, which is probably why it can't work on the 128gb version

@iBug2, what do you need to film in 4K ProRes and why? It's an unnecessary format for 90% of people.
I want to use the macro feature of 13 Pro to shoot some through the grass shots of plants, insects, etc. It is really beautiful with the stabilization of 13 Pro. But I need some room to edit and colour correct later so ProRes would be much better than H.265.

Legit reason. Any chance you might be able to up trade to the 256gb version?

???

Given the current situation:
A) stop being cheap and upgrade to bigger storage

OR

B) accept what you have and move on

Aside from griping, this post is useless … just my 2 cents

I will return 128 and get 256, if they have stock. But if there is no stock in store, I cannot do that. I have 1 week to return mine but online store gives 5 week estimate for shipping.

Yeah for some reason, Apple seem to under estimate demand for the Pro Max, again.

Especially so in the brand new Sierra Blue.

I got the 256GB version but now feel a pinch of regret, seeing how big a difference ProRes makes.

I wished I had splurge on a 512GB or 1TB version. Oh well.

Maybe return and re-order? Or you can try calling Apple Support(assuming you made a purchase from Apple), see if they can help you locate your desired size in inventory.

So far my experience with Apple Support has largely been positive.

It does sucks but you must upgrade to take full advantage of this device.

I took a 2min video of my teen's cheerleading team at 4k....Came to about 13gb. When looking at the quality I didn't see a huge difference from a 1080p hd regular video... I wonder what the settings should be? Or tweaks?
