    I was wondering...

I know in windows, it annoyingly prompts you every time you get a new application that would like to connect to the internet. Is there a way is OSX to allow and disallow some applications to connect to the internet? For instance, if I'm tired of Microsoft Word from connecting to the internet, how can I do that without physically disconnecting from the internet every time? Thanks

Another good app you might want to try for keeping control of both outbound and inbound traffic from your apps and OS X is Net Barrier X.
