How do you guys install/remove your Link Bracelet band? Do you unattach one of the links before you slide the lug on/off? I have the link bracelet but I've always been afraid to twist the band to get the lug off. I'm afraid I'll damage the clasp somehow. So I always unattach one of the links which separates the band into two parts first.

of course, this is only one method which is recomended by apple
I was at  last week and watched a guy remove link band by unlocking both sides and sliding them upward at the same time to remove link band.

Just thought I'd posted an update after three weeks with the link bracelet. The minor fit issues I raised in my original post are much less of an issue now. With every strap I've owned (Sport, Leather Loop, Link Bracelet) I've had a great first impression but found there was still a period of getting used to it: how to put on and take off quickly, how to adjust, etc. Well three weeks in and I feel much more "dialed in" with the link bracelet. I've worn this bracelet almost exclusively for the three weeks, only switching to the Sport for half a day one time. As mentioned above, I started carrying an extra link with me for "swollen wrist" days, but have found that I'm not using it anymore. I'm happier without it.

I do still have moments, usually at home after a long day of work, where it feels a bit snug or sweaty underneath. So what I do now is just take it off for 15 minutes. The link bracelet is extremely easy to take off and put back on. When I put it back on, the metal is nice and cool and feels good on the wrist. That's an advantage of metal over leather. It's fast to release heat.

Anyway, I remain very pleased with this strap. It was big bucks, but I spent enough time with the watch beforehand (8 months) to know that I would never go back to not having one on my wrist. Therefore, investing in a strap that is designed so well and feels/looks so great became a clear choice. The only problem now is: when will I ever want to use my other straps?

I honestly agree with you.

I had an Apple Store staffer do the same when I asked how he preferred to remove the bracelet.

I'm still a little wary of doing it this way, though. The tolerances in the clasp are a lot tighter than those of my other watches, and I can imagine a small tweak could bend it too far out of alignment.

That is how they told me to do it at the Apple Store detach from the butterfly clasp first then the casing.

This is how I do it. Unlock one side, slide it just a millimeter or so to prevent it from re-latching, unlock the other, then push the watch body itself out while bracing the backsides of the strap ends with my thumbs.

As long as you do it gently without applying too much differential force, it's totally fine.

That's how they did it at . I never thought to do it that way. The directions say to un clasp mid way on a side. Then detach the band.

The directions are the safe approach if you're not comfortable doing it the other way. I can understand why Apple chose to document it that way. But my approach works fine if you make sure not to put excessive torque on the strap.
