Out of curiosity, does Apple provide the means -- API or otherwise -- for app developers to link biometrics of whoever is signed in on an iOS device to a profile within their app? Put simply, we know that many apps, especially for streaming services, allow people to have profiles -- dad, mum, each of the kids, etc -- but going into one tends to need a PIN, which seems like an unnecessary friction point. To that end, does iOS have the means to link a given device person's biometrics so that, for example, dad can jump straight into his profile when going into a given app. I know that some apps have FaceID as means of authentication, so I'm cautiously optimistic that it's possible for other use cases too.
