Is anyone else having issues with these applications?

I believe someone (called bubzie?) found out a way to make them work by changing some hex, but I can't seem to find a link to their blog post.

Oh, wow. If you manage to get Linkinus to work, please post the link to the blogpost! I'm missing Linkinus already.

Try Textual? Easier on the RAM too.

The Linkinus devs seem to be MIA, as they're not even (and have not been for a while) in their support channels...
