I like the GMAIL app so much better than the MAIL app or the HTML version on my iPad3.

However, I do not like that links from emails open inside the GMAIL app. Is there any way to force the links in the GMAIL app to open in CHROME instead?

Links cannot automatically open in a browser different than safari on ios.
You can't set a different default browser.

^ that is just not true. First of all, when in the GMAIL app, links AUTOMATICALLY open inside the GMAIL app.....

Second, you can JB the device to change the default browser.

If you want to open them in an EXTERNAL browser, you can do it only in SAFARI (if you tap and hold on the link you'll get the option to OPEN it in SAFARI).
If you're already aware of jailbreaking tweaks, why did you ask for advice in the first place?
