Ok so what I had on my iMac back at home was my iMac connecting to the internet through a wireless router. Then I had my Linkstation plugged up through the ethernet port in the back of my iMac and I could access the Share drive perfectly.

Three days ago I brought my computer to the campus of Meredith college for a summer academics program. I connected to the internet here, it worked fine. But for some reason my Linkstation will not connect. When I use command k and type in the IP address of the ethernet it tells me "This file server is running on your machine. Please access the volume and files locally." The only trouble is that it does not show up under shared folders in Finder either! Any help to get this drive working would be amazing!
