You shouldn't need to do that. Do you have an internet connection?

Yes. What I meant about disassembling my 12" was that when you put a CD in the drive, you can remove it without disassembly, I need to plonk down whatever it costs to get a proper SuperdriveYou shouldn't need to do that. Do you have an internet connection?

It was difficult getting ethernet working, but its fine now.
What do you guys think of a G5 Quad and its possible performance? The reason I ask is because I would like to have the capability of actually syncing with my phone and I cannot do that with my iPhone 4S. Now that being said, I love my "new" iPhone but am considering moving back to my 3GS simply because of the inability to sync properly.
He can easily downgrade his 4S to iOS 6, he just needs to be jailbroken.I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 6 if you are interested.

Yes, I think so. Jailbreak your phone, install OpenSSH, and run the tool. Backup before doing, though. If you want a more manual way of checking, without jailbreaking, using this -> https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/3bfrd5/release_odysseusota_downgrade_iphone4s_or_ipad2/Does that tool allow you to downgrade to iOS 6 even if your device never ran that OS?

Just fetch the SHSH blobs, i.e:
#download shsh blobs
./idevicerestore -t *ios 6.1.3 firmware*
That is very impressiveFurther to what I said about an older distro being more up to speed, just look at the crazy performance of Fedora on a G5 from 2007:
On my 12" PowerBook I currently have, I run OpenBSD...
