Ok, I'm going to start this off by saying I know I kind of asked for this. But none the less, this shouldn't be happening.

A few months ago I got entirely too excited for Lion and torrented a developer preview. I kept up on updates and stuff like that.

Well, it officially released and I had every intention of buying it. Opened up the app store, and it said it was installed. I wasn't too happy. But that's life.

Long story short, I haven't had the best Internet access for the last month because I was on tour, and I also didn't back up too often. Maybe once a week.

So I got home a few days ago. Installed the golden master. Backed up successfully. Wiped my hard drive. Clean installed SL. Updated to 10.6.8. Bought Lion. Installed.

Now I'm trying to restore from my back up in recovery mode and every time at about 5% it fails. Once it made it to 50%.

I tried migration assistant and it wouldn't find my back up drive.

I dont want to restore from an SL back up and then upgrade because I'll lose a few months worth of stuff.

    TL;DR,
I can't restore my time machine back up onto a clean install of Lion.

    PLEASE HELP.
