    I have a 24inch iMac (Nvidia GT 120 256MB).

SL since release - NO graphic issues or freezes. Not one on a machine that runs mostly 24/7

Lion - graphics issues, crashes, freezes 5 times a week. Crash, freeze, have to reboot.
I waited to install 10.7.2 fresh so it's a fine running system. I've noticed if i run apps in full screen, the system crashes quicker (presumiby overheating the graphics card)

Result? This is a Lion issue. Apple, fix this!

Sometimes crash reports are available - i've emailed them all to Apple. Roll on 10.7.3. The error reports look like it's the driver.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Major major crashes multiple times a day. Really frustrated and it never happened in SL

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

It could be a driver issue, or it could be a hardware issue that has been uncovered with Lion's higher demand on hardware.

As I don't have the same model Mac as you, I can't really say if it's an issue on all the computers with the same model. I will say that I haven't had any problems with either my 2007 Core 2 Duo or my new Core i7 mini.

Most likely a crappy Lion issue. I have had the same results on my Macbook.

Madd the Sane - maybe you're right with lions demands..

When my computer freezes and i have to restart, it asks me to send a report to apple. God knows they have loads of reports from me..

Do you know where these are stored in lion? I opened up console but i can't see the reports.

The crash report usually references NVIDIA but i can't find any reference in console.

Yeah your getting kernel panics because of dodgy nvidia kexts/drivers. One workaround that I definitely do not recommend is to temporarily delete those offending kexts. This makes the OS use the software graphics renderer instead of your graphics card which results in poor, choppy performance. Its not a good solution if even that.

My only recommendation is to wait it out for 10.7.3 and see if it it fixes it. From what I hear, there will be updated Nvidia graphics drivers and , as always, a newer kernel. Im not an apple developer so I do not know if your problem is fixed in 10.7.3. Im just assuming it will be as that is a serious problem you have.

    Thanks for the advice :)

Where did you hear about the graphics driver update? Haven't seen anything in the 10.7.3 rumours note. Only changes in safari, etc..

Just an update.. Apple have NOT fixed this issue in 10.7.3!!!

I can play hours of games FINE but anything in Lion (safari, finder WILL cause a crash at some point) It's Lion and the crash reports point to the driver.

Apple's software has really been buggy as of late..

Funnily enough, on other sites i can't mention that talk of modifying OSX to run on other systems, they mention nvidia troubles in 10.7.3 and are coding their own drivers as Apple has poor implimentation in lion. Again - not one crash in Snow Leopard on a machine that ran 24/7 all year round though winter till summer..

On an iMac, i can't turn off graphics options as it's a desktop so i'm really stuck! I read that freezing issues on MacBooks can be circumvented by users tuning off graphics acceleration in the power management options.

3 freezes tonight so far in the space of 1h and only one came up to report to apple. Sometimes, i can go for hours without a freeze so go figure.

I'm starting a youtube channel about this to draw some attention
