Lion install freezes and instructs me to reset

This is my third time trying to install lion on my 2009 mbp.
After a bit of I stalling I get the pop up blackish screen that says you must restart your computer. Please hold down power button to restart. When I restart it tries installing again and then freezes again!

I can't even get back to my SL. I'm going to have to reinstall SL from my boot up disk but then how am I supposed to install Lion?!
